Pennsylvania Regional Organizer

Position: remote

Red Wine & Blue is a national community of diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism and change the world for the better, one friend at a time (best explained by this NYT episode of “The Daily,” Why Suburban Women Changed Their Minds and this Washington Post profile, ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives). We are seeking a regional organizer to join our Pennsylvania team and help us engage women, expand our networks, and encourage organizing in suburban communities.

Who we are looking for:  A multitasking guru with strong interpersonal, communication, and data skills who has vast networks in the suburbs in Bucks and Montgomery counties and beyond.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Increasing our supporter base in targeted suburbs and spreading the word about RWB in these communities through direct contact, social media, and events.
  • Maintaining relationships with supporters and updating them on RWB events, initiatives and programs.
  • Planning and scheduling in-person and virtual events to build community and increase engagement with RWB.
  • Helping train women on organizing techniques and giving them the confidence they need to become politically active and engaged.
  • Participating in content creation for RWB including videos, virtual events and social media posts.
  • Helping with earned media opportunities by participating in interviews with media outlets.
  • Researching organizations and building coalitions with key groups in your area to expand RWB’s reach for the next election cycle.
  • Keeping apprised of local and statewide political issues, legislation and monitoring local races and potential candidates for office.
  • Assisting the RWB organizing team with national and statewide events and attending team meetings.
  • Helping maintain state social media pages and sharing RWB digital content and events on your personal social media.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with the State and Deputy Program Directors and seeking out support when you hit obstacles.

What you’ve got:

  • You’re the one your friends (and their friends) call or text or message on Facebook to find out what’s going on at school or in the community. You thrive at inspiring other women to get involved because you know how to make it feel social and fun.
  • You understand how to connect on shared values with women who don’t consider themselves to be “political” or who may disagree with you on some issues. You believe in the power of relationships based on trust and excel at meeting people where they are, then helping them gradually move where you want them to go.
  • You understand the power of personal relationships and want to encourage others to find their voice and understand their ability to influence their networks.
  • You like talking to individuals one-on-one as well as talking to groups – you are a people person.
  • You enjoy communicating on social media and love using communication and digital tools..
  • You are excited to learn and use new technology for data and communication.
  • You are willing to put yourself out there whether it is speaking in public, creating videos or talking to reporters.
  • You love building community among women to reach a common goal – and you are excited about finding ways to keep that community engaged and empowered.
  • You thrive at managing projects remotely.
  • And above all, you have a passion for getting sh*t done!
