At 19 my high school sweetheart and I got pregnant. We were both at college and he had a full scholarship. We tried to give the baby to his uncle and aunt who had been trying but ended up also having a baby on the way. While you are at Planned Parenthood they do a full check-up including a pap smear. They found dysplasia and upon a biopsy some cancerous cells. They helped me arrange a LEEP to laser away the bad cells. After about 2 months everything was fine. I went on 17 years later to have a healthy daughter. Had I not been pregnant I wouldn’t have gone for a check-up. I would have skipped it and may have lost my cervix or my life.
